The three golden P’s: People, Performance and Potential

What is the golden P in people? People are led by their emotions and organisations, institutions and politics are run by humans. Therefor it is of highest importance that we know how our brains work together with our emotional system and to get sensitive for irrational, subconscious signs that might trigger our decision-making process in a whole other way than expected. How to define performance ?

For me, performance is a mix of achievement, ambition, willingness to develop, and striving for better or higher without being selfish, having a touch of perfectionism and of course living “humbleness”. What does potential mean? Potential is like the growth lines in our body, they can be fully utilized, but are incredibly fragile and are often more or less fully utilized by the surrounding tissue, bone core and hormones. In addition, we can even become “bigger” without gaining in physical size, but only in self-confidence, authenticity and power that may make our appearance appear larger than it is. That’s the way we can look smaller than we actually seem. The size stands and falls with the appearance and what we make of our size. It is the same with our potential. We can make full use of it, or waste it. But we can also shine in areas that might not previously have been predefined as our strengths or that we would not have expected. Potential is therefore the interplay of willpower, self-confidence and external circumstances that are promoted and the ability to not simply accept these opportunities for further development, but to play with them, to challenge them and to connect them with other strengths to even greater ones.

How do I live these values?

For me, the most important thing is to deal well with my fellow human beings, to help them to be happy, to listen and constantly question, develop and learn. So I combine all three Ps in my everyday life by standing in constant communication with my environment, wanting to get to know new perspectives and do my best to understand and try them out. Staying true to yourself does not mean to me that you can not evolve, on the contrary, it means not assuming any premature assumptions or predefined judgments, but always being open to being new and curious, not giving up, if something is not perfect. Being mindful of the diverse potential of my fellow human beings and to respect that performance can not be defined equally for all.
