Just Do it! – otherwise you never will

The brand Nike has accompanied me since I was little, a three year old, starting a “dance career”, still unaware of the beauty and danger that this passion can actually hold. Nike was there in all ups and downs and still is. For me it is not simply a fashionable sports brand, it’s slogan “Just Do it” became my motto for life. It is much more than a simple metaphor for motivating, for doing something that might seem hard in the beginning. It talks abut change, about insecurity, about fear of failure, about endurance, and courage. “Just” is not playing down the actual doing, , instead it gives focus on the topic at hand. Focus on the “Do” not on the “what else”. It closes the thinking space for the “what if’s” and doesn’t allow overthinking. Three words and one exclamation mark. No more is needed and everybody understands and feels empowered to give it a try.

And this empowerement is exactly what we need nowadays when thinking about change, lifestyle, innovation and digitalization. A missing sense of belonging constantly chasing us from one trend to another holds us back from actually doing what we might want to do. We never get the chance to even think about the “Do” before the “it” in our life is already around the next corner. I don’t want to encourage you not to think anymore about what you do, but be more risky, be more curious, trust your instinct and give the child in yourself enough space to play now. No excuses, Just Do it! Not time, no resources, no skills, these are no excuses for simply going out and trying stuff. There is no never and no impossible anymore in our world. Take this opportunity for your advantage and give your life a try. You only have one so it should definetly be worth a little courage from your side to give it the chance of astonishing you.
